Riverton Wyoming Hotels On The Way To Yellowstone

By Marla Mills

Most Riverton Wyoming hotels are at or near full occupancy most of the time. The main reason is because the city is the main gateway into Yellowstone, and this accounts for a majority of the thoroughfare. It also happens to be the biggest city in the vastness of the half million acres of land that was taken over from the Wind River Indian Reservation.

The city's size and central location makes it an ideal base for a Wind River Country exploration. The fact that the Big Wind River flows by makes it that much more of an outdoor paradise for visitors. Finding a place to stay is very easy, and travelers can decide which hotel is best based on their itinerary.

The largest visitor group in Riverton at any given time is usually the bunch of park travelers on the way to or from Yellowstone. A lot of them are road-trippers enjoying what is arguably one among the top scenic routes in the United States. Some combine a visit to Yellowstone with other activities such as hot-air balloon rides and recreation at the Boysen Reservoir.

Travelers on State Hwy 789 or US-26 driving into Riverton can simply choose from among the nearest set of hotels lined up along the highway. One set is on West and East Main St, while the other group is lined up along North Federal Blvd. For those already in Riverton, both locations are just as convenient since the two roads intersect right at the city center.

These hotels are ideal for travelers on an overnight stop, and for those staying for a couple of days while they explore the region's natural beauty and attractions. Most hotels are family-friendly, and offer connecting rooms and other facilities and amenities that couples with children will find useful. Pets are usually allowed to stay with guests in their rooms. However, it's better to check beforehand while booking the stay.

In-room amenities that are usually available include cable TV and telephones. Access to swimming pools and Wi-Fi Internet is to be expected, along with facilities such as RV parking, laundry and fitness centers. An onsite restaurant normally takes care of room service requests, coffee and tea, continental breakfasts, etc.

Some visitors are tourists who would no doubt like to check out some of the famous Wind River Country attractions. The most popular one that gets huge numbers of tourists every year is the burial site of Sacajawea, located inside the Reservation not far from Riverton. The casinos in the region are also quite a big draw among tourists and locals alike. The festivals and fairs that are held annually also draw thousands of people each year on specific dates.

The Riverton Wyoming hotels near the city center are ideal for all these visitors. They will have full access to business centers and meeting or conference rooms with audio-visual equipment. Regardless of the choice of hotel or its location, it's a good bet that the stay is likely to be comfortable and the trip highly memorable.
