Detroit offers a rare blend of all season sports in the Motor City. The out of doors sports in Detroit are pleasantly sundry and regularly crowded when good weather ensues. There has been a conscience effort to seriously change the attitude and city into a place of beauty. So far, they do a good job!

One obscure treasure are the hiking trails in Detroit. The Koppemick Trail section of the Holiday Nature Preserve offers day hiking at its very finest. This section has multiple trail selections with distances from half mile to over 1.5 miles long. This nature refuge offers natural wetlands, pretty wildflowers, peaceful woods and northern wildlife. This parcel of beauty in the city of Detroit limits have wildlife such as coyote, deer, and many types of birds. The bustle of Detroit life will leave one desiring for tranquil, lazy hiking trails in Detroit.

While some places are consumed with offering a "car travel city", ironically, the Motor City itself is working to radically change the city's image into a new Detroit.
